In less than 24 hours we will be heading off on our first family vacation in a LONG while. When Sherri and I first got together, she told me about going to Tybee Island, GA, so for our 5th anniversary I surprised her with an impromptu trip. We had a great extended weekend in a Bed & Breakfast, so good we ended up making ole Riley Ben while we were down there. ;) A couple of months back we decided we should go back and take the lads this time. I found a nice house a couple of blocks from the beach that we could rent for not too much, so plans were made.

Well, the time is almost upon us. WIth Sherri's recent health issues and work stress for both of us, we are in need of some down time. A full week away, a whole house to ourselves, beach within close view... This is going to be good times.

These are all from yesterday, mostly coming to and leaving the Keynote:

Just got to my hotel in SF for WWDC. We had requested an early flight, but ended up leaving Nashville around 4pm and didn't set foot on the West Coast until almost 11pm central time. It's good to be back in the Bay Area, but it's doubtful I'll get too much time to explore, and what I will have will be after dark.

My room is tiny, but seems to be ok otherwise. I have two single beds, one of which is taken by the disheveled contents of my overstuffed backpack. I'll take a picture and post it tomorrow so you can bask in the glory of my minuscule lodging.

Now that I've washed the travel funk off, I think I'm going to meander downstairs to have a smoke, then either wander a bit or come back and crash.
